Paul Christopher

Paul has experience of diverse commercial and public law matters, with particular interests in regulatory and administrative matters, employment and sports disputes and immigration and human rights.

Paul has been instructed by a range of clients in both the public and private sectors, advising government departments including the Health Service Executive and Department of Justice. Paul was appointed to the Health Service Executive junior counsel panel in 2010.

Paul has appeared led and unled in the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the Central Criminal Court, the Labour Court, the Refugee Appeals Tribunal, the Circuit and District Courts, the Coroner's Court, the Appeals and Referrals Committee of the Irish Turf Club, the Appeal Board of the Football Association of Ireland as well as in insurance and consumer arbitration.

Paul is a member of the Bar of Ireland and qualified mediator.

Paul was previously a member of the Refugee Appeals Tribunal, having delivered over 500 written decisions during his tenure. He is currently the Chairperson of the Private Security Appeals Board. He is also a Vetting Bureau Appeals Officer and an Appeals Officer under the Lobbying Act.

Paul has a working knowledge of French and has rudimentary knowledge of German and Dutch.

Paul has lectured and tutored widely on matters within his expertise, including on Arbitration at King's Inns and Constitutional and Administrative Law at University College Cork. He is a former editor of the Tax Appeals Commission Reports.
